V-belt
A V-belt is a part of engine’s internal combustion system which helps in synchronizing crankshaft rotation. It is often known as a camshaft drive belt. It is an engraved belt made up of rubber that enables crankshaft to turn the camshaft and opens and closes the engine valves synchronously with pistons. These days timing belt is getting replaced by metal timing chain. Car V-belt acts as a transmission belt that transmits the force from the engine to other components like the alternator, hydraulic pump for power steering, the fan and air conditioning compressor.
